Just a few snapshots from our hot pot dinner last night...
We went to a place called Siu Fei Yeung ("Little Fat Sheep") and this is a shot looking out the front door. It is really popular. We had reservations, but they are more so to create the order in which parties are seated - they do not guarantee a particular time. We arrived at 7pm, but weren't seated until 8pm. In the picture, you can actually see Katherine on the phone (talking to Ross) in the lower right corner.
The initial spread (about four more dishes were to come). The name of the restaurant is an indicator of its specialty, so most of the meat you see is lamb.
Ross Chen presiding over the meal. Ross and I first met in 2003, when I was in Los Angeles for the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). He and I had been corresponding regularly as a direct result of his LoveHKFilm work. At the end of 2004, YesAsia.com headhunted him, hired him, and moved him to Hong Kong to become their chief English content editor. Why? They loved his website. Amazing, no? Katherine and I met with him in 2005 when we visited Hong Kong...and now we are reunited again.
It was a fun night!
