...and we're back on the air!
Carson had a wonderful two months with us and, even though I neglected my blogging during his visit, we took plenty of pictures. It's time to share some of those...
...where we also had snails... ...see! Constructing our own raspberry-banana napoleons (with homemade vanilla cream) Delicious sweet tofu at Grandma's Tofu on Lamma... ...gave us a great break from the heat If you said, "That looks like the lungs of a pig", you're right! On the ferry! Jumbo! After a surprisingly good meal (considering that this is mostly a tourist destination) Emperor Chen and her jesters (well, if Emperors had jesters, anyway) Ningning and Phoenix, trying to spot pink dolphins... ...while Carson primes his camera ...where we also had the richly flavorful Yak and Mac (rice roll "macaroni" with yak cheese) The Big Bang, one of our desserts (sandalwood smoke captured inside a sugar shell)... Right after I cracked the shell. If you look closely, you can see wisps of sandalwood smoke rising from the bowl. Sandworm jellies (土筍凍) at North Point's Mun Nam Fujianese restaurant Carson, after the first bite, uses all his willpower to chew and swallow... ...while I ponder the sweet release of vomiting. But we did it! ...which serves one of the most famous bowls of shrimp wonton noodles in Hong Kong Sipping from urinal glasses And enjoying a floor toilet full of chocolate ice cream for dessert Obviously a tasteful fine dining experience In Shenzhen with our very kind guides, Phoenix and Ningning(thanks to Carson for this, and the next, picture!) ...where we tried - wait for it - steamed fish eyeballs! Fui Fui approves!Carson stayed a week longer than what is chronicled here, but that will be covered in the next post...

GORGEOUS landscapes...questionable food choices! I am sure you will have lots to talk about (and laugh about) in the memories of the cuisine of this trip FOREVER!
